Cilla Baynes wins an award at WOW Festival 2018

CAN’s Cilla Baynes won an Inspiring Change Award as part of Southbank’s WOW Women of the World Festival 2018

7 April 2018

We’re extremely proud of Cilla Baynes, CAN’s Creative Director and Co-Founder, who recently won an Inspiring Change Award as part of 2018’s Southbank’s WOW Women of the World Festival for her development of Exodus our Greater Manchester Refugee Arts programme.

Cilla collected her award in March at the WOWWomen in the Creative Industries Awards which took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall.  The awards are the first-ever cross-sector awards to celebrate the pivotal role of women in the cultural and creative sectors and to honour exceptional women.

The Inspiring Change Award recognises the contribution of women instrumental in effecting positive social change, unleashing the creativity of others and giving a platform to important stories through their work in the creative industries.

Congratulations to Cilla and thank you to WOW Women of the World Festival 2018 for recognising Cilla’s unique contribution to the arts in the UK.
