In 2019, CAN Young Actors@HOME created The Dream Collector, an ensemble piece of theatre, together with writer David Cuong Nguyen.
Inspired by The Ballard of Tam Lin, CAN Young Artists@HOME explored – through music, mask and ensemble work – the hopes and aspirations they have for their futures to challenge the views of a society that wants to limit them.
“The Queen of Dreams has sharp eyes. She sees a dream that’s there for the taking, clasped in our hands. Pinned to our hearts. She is waiting for the moment when we have to let them go.”
Marina has big dreams for the future whereas Remelle has just one small hope left. Can Marina and her friends help Remelle and others like him to defeat the Queen of Dreams and imagine new futures?
