We’re all Global Citizens

We're launching Without Borders a new participatory creative series of workshops for young artists taking place during June and July

We’re looking for young people aged 13 to 21 to join the CAN Young Artists group this June – July.

Our CAN Young Artists projects encourage creative conversations, support young people’s well-being and grow their confidence to become future leaders.

Based at our city centre office meeting space, CAN Young Artists will be discovering and building skills in percussion, music, and drama games working with two experienced artists, Andy Boothman and Val Lukianets around the theme of Manchester,  the creative city . The project closes with an exciting percussion workshop with Jubacana. The project will extend to a creative programme at Band on the Wall.

Without Borders builds on our successful creative projects with young people from Manchester whose heritages are rooted in countries including Ethiopia, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Syria and Eritrea.

Without Borders builds on the success of our CAN Young Artists’ February 2023 half-term project Sparks of Freedom which explored the themes of freedom and joy.

Young people’s voices are more important as we face growing inequalities, a lack of social justice and human rights, the cost-of-living crisis and the climate emergency.

If you’re interested or want to signpost a young person to the project, please get in touch with Michelle Udogu, CAN Creative Producer, on 0161 234 2975/07561 664 130 or email michelle@can.uk.com
