Building on the project's success in 2021 and 2022, another packed year of creativity is ahead
The next creative delivery phase of the project will run between September and December. In March 2024, there will be a sharing as part of Rochdale’s celebrations for International Women’s Day.
2023’s International Women’s Day event was a huge success. It brought women from the diverse communities of Rochdale together to celebrate women’s power and achievement through varied art forms, including poetry, live music, film, visual art, and a mosaic display. And, of course, there was the sharing of delicious food!
Once again, Community Arts North West (CAN) is working with Rochdale’s Kashmir Youth Project (KYP).
The project at KYP invites older South Asian women to share their voices through art, poetry, movement, and creative health. The group is working with the visual artist Hafsah Aneela Bashir.
CAN will continue its partnership with M6 Theatre and Petrus at Hopwood College. CAN will invite young women and non-binary students to develop original art inspired by their ideas, which will be a key part of the college’s celebration of International Women’s Day 2024.
Rochdale Women’s Voices is funded by Lankelly Chase.
