Without Borders launches this autumn and there’s a freelance Music Leader opportunity

CAN and Band on the Wall are recruiting for an experienced Music Leader to lead and deliver an exciting new music programme – Without Borders - for young people

11 September 2024

This autumn, CAN and Band on the Wall launch World of Song, a two-year National Heritage Lottery Fund-supported programme for Greater Manchester that explores and profiles the diverse musical heritages of children, young people and adults from the global diaspora.

Without Borders is the programme strand for young people.

Without Borders will see CAN and Band on the Wall work with a cohort of 10 – 15 young people aged 13 – 18, supporting them in creating a band and making new music inspired by their cultural heritages.

The group could potentially include instrumentalists, singers, MCs and music producers.

Participants will develop joint songs and tracks, have the opportunity to visit and learn about a professional recording studio, perform, record their own music, and work with a filmmaker to create content.

Without Borders is recruiting an experienced freelance Music Leader to lead the band supporting young people to bring their ideas to life.

The total fee is £5,250 for 42 two-hour sessions (£125 per session) taking place at Band on the Wall.

The sessions will run on Tuesday evenings during term time starting in November 2024.

The fee includes session preparation time.
