Digital Portraits: Identity + Practice

First Person is the culmination of a week-long collaborative filmmaking process, using Filmonik‘s intensive, part jam, part creative boot-camp, filmmaking methods. During this limited timescale, participants developed their creative ideas and skills; writing, directing, editing and publicly screening their films.

The project’s aim is to enable participants to produce a new piece of work that explores the relationship between their artistic practice and personal identity.

The resulting work is premièred on 21st June 2015, during Refugee Week – a UK-wide programme of arts, cultural and educational activities celebrating the contribution of refugees to the UK. It will also be presented at several other pop-up screenings across Greater Manchester during 2015.
