Now We Talkin’ was a youth arts project produced by CAN and partnership organisations from across Greater Manchester in 2004.
Talkin’ issues, Talkin’ local, Talkin’ global
Now We Talkin’ engaged over 200 young people aged 14+ from Greater Manchester in devising and producing an exciting, powerful arts-based work. The project included MUSIC, DRAMA, VISUAL ARTS, VIDEO, CREATIVE WRITING and HIP HOP, bringing together young people to share, talk, experiment & collaborate.
In a world of extreme cultural conflict, prejudice and war, we all play a crucial role in achieving sustainable peace on a local and global level. We need opportunities to actively communicate and work together to challenge prejudice and conflict and promote tolerance and peace.
The project explored issues around DIVERSITY, SIMILARITY, DIFFERENCE, IDENTITY, CONFLICT, UNITY, MIGRATION and INTEGRATION.
