Testimony performing at Exodus Live

“Testimony’s music goes across the boundaries between communities, transforming the prejudices that people might have towards refugees. Their music is inspiring and full of hope.” Lis Murphy

Founded in 2004, Testimony is a group of mainly Francophone African women asylum seekers (primarily from DRC Congo and Cameroon). Religious convictions helped to bond them and led them to start a gospel singing group.

The group performed a sell-out concert at Methodist Hall in 2008 and launched their debut album, Nitaishi, at Band On The Wall in 2010.

The group currently consists of Emmanuela Yogolelo, Sandra Belezika and Mimi Kalumba.

Testimony is a direct legacy of Emmanuela’s work with previous Exodus projects. Emmanuela is a former Exodus Trainee and is a member of the Beating Wing Orchestra.
