"CAN is an exceptionally welcoming organisation... In the future I hope to go into community arts and arts management and I know that my volunteering with CAN has given me invaluable experience and put me in good stead!" Shereen Perera

Volunteers make a huge contribution to CAN’s projects and events and we really value their involvement. There are a range of roles in which you can get involved from administrative to event management support.

Opportunities depend on our programmes and availability. Volunteering roles in the past at CAN have included:

  • Project management support for the community outreach workshops for Manchester Day Parade
  • Front of house roles at Exodus events
  • Volunteer Coordinator for the Manchester Day Parade
  • Actors for the Down with the Dictator production

Read a case study of how a volunteer became involved in our work, what they feel they have gained from this experience and how their work has benefited the people who take part in our projects:
