Emmanuela Yogolelo

Emmanuela is Assistant Creative Producer for Community Arts North West’s Children and Young People’s programme. In this role she is responsible for managing CAN’s Kamosi Juniors Performing Arts programme for children in Leigh (Wigan Borough).

Emmanuela has wide experience of participatory arts and vocal workshop delivery with children and adults. Emmanuela developed her passion for music from her home in Eastern DR Congo where she was influenced by the traditional music of African people known as ‘pygmies’, Shi tribe and of neighbouring Rwanda and Burundi. Since arriving in the UK, she has led many artistic initiatives including Amani Creative, a dynamic collective of artists of African genres from the North West of England, where she is Founder and Creative Producer. Emmanuela has performed at Manchester International Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Band on the Wall, Shambala, Eurovision, WOW/Southbank amongst others.
