The Platforma North West Hub helps to raise the profile of the North West and advocate for some of the exciting and prolific arts work that happens here. The North West hub is currently coordinated by CAN who is responsible for organising the meetings, managing, updating & promoting the regional website pages; growing the membership; and facilitating the North West contribution to national events. Platforma North West hub meetings are an excellent forum for artists and organisations to meet, share information and discuss key issues of practice. We currently have a membership of around 80 artists and organisations from across the North West but we are keen to engage new members from Cumbria, Cheshire and Liverpool. Membership of the Platforma North West Hub is open to artists or organisations from any background who have an interest or engagement with the varied experiences of refugees including:
- Organisations that produce refugee related arts projects and activities
- Artists who are refugees/ asylum-seekers and artists whose work explores refugee related experiences
- Other individuals & organisations from the region who are interested in supporting, developing & promoting refugee-related arts
In addition to the meetings, members can also use the Platforma website to share information about themselves or relevant projects and events, and network with other people engaged in Platforma nationally. You can create your own profile straight away by visiting the Platforma website homepage and clicking ‘join’ in the top, right-hand corner. The Platforma North West hub is currently funded by Arts Council England until July 2013. For more information or to get involved with Platforma in the North West please contact Sara.
