Partnership & collaboration

CAN aims to maximise the potential for the funding of community arts and promote its sustainability by working in partnership with other cultural organisations both mainstream & independent, the voluntary sector, charitable agencies, funding bodies and others.

This helps to develop artistic programmes that benefit our client groups through better resourcing, opportunity to make wider connections and to connect groups to mainstream resources.

Also, for mainstream resources to enrich their programmes through connecting with the diverse and independent arts sectors that can bring an artistic-led approach to diversity in the arts.

We’re able to deliver both artistic & social outcomes and our experience has taught us that to enable this process, the relationship with communities is paramount and artistic quality key.

We believe that successful partnerships are built on the following criteria:

  • Ambitious programmes that reach for the stars
  • Good ideas
  • Clear, shared objectives
  • Equal risk taking
  • Quality artistic processes and cultural products produce the most striking social outcomes

The needs and high aspirations of participant groups must remain paramount.
