Community SpirIT Meet Up at MadLab

Community SpirIT is a group grown from CAN’s digital media training course and will meet up monthly at
MadLab. This is an opportunity to share ideas and digital media skills for existing members and newcomers.

Community SpirIT is a friendly group of artists, creatives and cultural producers interested in using digital media in a community context, to give voice and expression to the many different cultures and communities living in the North West today. We have a wide range of skills and interests including video, photography, music production, web design, graphic design and social media and will be sharing skills, expertise and ideas. Community SpirIT began as a digital media training course at Community Arts North West (CAN) with the aim of supporting artists and cultural groups to develop their digital skills and raise their online profile.

The group will meet monthly beginning Tuesday 19th January and will roughly follow the following format:

6.30pm – Arrive and Information Sharing. An opportunity to let people know about what you are working on and what you need help with eg. collaborators, technical help, equipment.

7.30pm – Introduction to After Effects, a software application for creating video compositions, animations and special effects. Presented by Phil McDowell.

8pm – Community SpirIT technical clinic. An opportunity to get peer to peer hands on support with your digital media projects.

9pm – Finish

Newcomers welcome, if you want to get involved, drop Sara Domville (Creative Producer at CAN) an email on
