Digital and internet media are getting bigger – don’t get left behind, express yourself, represent your group, activity or community, report your news, show your creativity and have a voice!

Simple media tools can be used to great effect. No longer do you need a lot of money and equipment to create your own work but you do need to know HOW.

These sessions will get you started, improve on whatever you may do already and also include some advanced tricks for those who already have some skills.

These courses are all FREE, don’t miss this rare opportunity!

All sessions run from 10am-4pm except where otherwise stated. All take place at CAN except 18 Feb which takes place at Radio Regen.

Many people now have some basic equipment or gadget that films video. If used carefully it can produce great results. Learn how to shoot and edit well with simple tools, especially for journalism, campaigning, and internet use.

The basic principles, methods and techniques needed for using the internet as a part of campaigning strategies, including websites, blogs, petitions, YouTube, Facebook, mailing.

  • Understanding the wider campaign strategy and how internet tools can fit in

Promoting, distributing, marketing and getting your work out there using the internet – whether it is writing, art, photography, film, journalism, music, dance or acting, how can the internet help you reach more people. An essential session for all creative people.

You now have some skills, maybe starting some work, or have some ideas and need some support. Come along and meet people, get one-to-one advice, gain contacts and see how CAN’s Media Lab and other projects might support you or get you involved.
