The Traineeship was set up by CAN to develop young musicians living in Manchester who had the potential to become workshop leaders within youth music practice. The trainees recently completed a development programme based on seminars and specific individual training needs which aimed to develop them into workshop leaders of the future.

The programme also seeked to train refugee musicians in Manchester, illustrating and creating the diverse and embroidered pattern of Manchester’s music development.

All the trainees will be a source of music workshop leaders for the future and will invest with youth music organisations in and around Manchester.
